Community invited to inaugural District Dialogues event Sept. 3

WVU will host the state’s first District Dialogues event, presented by the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.

Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to attend “District Dialogues: Unlocking Rural Potential” from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Erickson Alumni Center or on Zoom.

The event will highlight:

  • The latest research and economic data shaping rural development.

  • Insights from local experts on barriers to rural investments.

  • Solutions that may support our economy and community development. 

Liz Vitullo, assistant vice president of economic innovation, will participate in a panel alongside the following: 

  • Andy Bauer, vice president and regional executive at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.  

  • Surekha Carpenter, senior research analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.

  • Jen Giovannitti, president of the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation.

  • Christy Laxton, executive director of Wyoming Economic Development. 

All community members are encouraged to attend. The event is free, but registration is required. 

In-person guests are invited to arrive early for networking and refreshments.
