Donations being accepted for 20th annual Blue and Gold Mine Sale

Blue and Gold Mine Sale

Members of the campus community can drop off unwanted items at any residence hall or donation stations in Morgantown to support the sale beginning Monday (May 5) through May 14.

Acceptable items include, but are not limited to: furniture, clothing, appliances, décor, sporting equipment, electronics and more. Items must be in usable condition.

This is the 20th year that the Office of Sustainability has collaborated with the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties to host the Blue and Gold Mine Sale — an annual yard sale-style event. The sale offers great deals on items donated during the student move-out period.

Annually, about 25 tons of goods are diverted from landfills through this sale, which has raised over $250,000 for the United Way.

Donation stations will be available at the following locations:

• University residence halls

• Chateau Royale

• The top of Falling Run Road

• Mountaineer Station parking lot at Area 81

• Grant Avenue near Summit Hall

• College Park Apartments — Willey Street entrance

• Outside Boreman Hall

Accepted Items:

• Clothing, shoes and accessories

• Purses, bags and luggage

• Bedding, curtains and towels

• Dishware, utensils, cups, pots, pans and kitchen appliances
