The WVU community is invited to explore how to make classrooms more accessible to students and instructors during a workshop hosted by the English Department DEI and Social Justice Committee at 2 p.m. March 31 in Colson Hall, Room 130.
Last semester, the Committee organized a series of reading groups on the book “Crip Spacetime: Access, Failure, and Accountability in Academic Life” by Margaret Price, along with a virtual conversation with the author.
In this follow-up workshop, attendees will discuss how to apply Price’s theory of crip spacetime to teaching and learning to prioritize accessibility in the classroom.
Examples will come from composition courses; however, the group will discuss how to apply strategies to other disciplines.
This workshop will count for English 790 credit for English Department graduate teaching assistants.
