As part of its preparation for its reaffirmation of accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission, WVU is preparing for the team’s visit to campus.
Campus community members are asked to save the dates — March 31 and April 1 — to participate in general feedback sessions.
During the visit, the HLC team will hold meetings with the campus community for general feedback and to discuss specific topics related to the five criteria. A finalized agenda will be announced soon, with meeting topics, times and locations.
The reaffirmation of accreditation process consists of the self-study and an HLC team visit to campus.
Associate Provost for Curriculum and Development Louis Slimak, who also serves as the University’s accreditation liaison, has been leading efforts to gather input from across the WVU System to compile the report.
The self-study includes reports from across the University system to demonstrate how the institution is meeting the HLC’s five evaluation criteria:
Mission
Integrity — Ethical and responsible conduct
Teaching and Learning — Quality, resources and support
Teaching and Learning — Evaluation and improvement
Effectiveness — Resources, planning and institutional
University faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate at all points in the accreditation process to demonstrate their pride in the institution and investment in the process.
