Morgantown Citizens Academy applications deadline extended through today

Downtown Morgantown High Street

Members of the WVU community are invited to submit an application for the free, ten-week course designed to give citizens a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the city departments and how to effectively engage their local government. Applications are due by the end of day today (March 5).

Sessions will be led by city staff from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday beginning April 10 through June 10 at various locations. Each week, participants will learn about different topics and get an inside look at how government functions.

Participants will also be tasked with completing a community service project alongside city ambassadors.

The academy will allow citizens to increase their knowledge of how municipal government works while providing them with the power to create change in their neighborhoods.

Students interested in applying should contact Whitney Glotfelty, assistant director for campus and community partnerships, at serveandlearn@mail.wvu.edu.

Submit your application.
