A screening of “Small Town Universe,” which shares stories of love, loss, resilience, hope, scientific discovery and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence in Green Bank — a small town in West Virginia with a big telescope — will be held at 7 p.m. March 7 in Ming Hsieh Hall, Room G20.
A reception is scheduled prior to the screening at 6:30 p.m., and a panel discussion with Emmy-nominated director Katie Dellamaggiore and others from the film will follow the screening.
The screening is part of the new series titled “Stories with STEAM — The Appalachian Circuit.”
The documentary debuted at the 2024 Cleveland International Film Festival in the Mimi Ohio Theatre, where it won the Global Health Award.
Since then, it has gone on to screen at multiple film festivals, winning awards and audiences’ hearts across the country.
