The First-Year Seminar Advisory Committee and the Office of the Provost are launching a new award aimed at honoring an exceptional instructor of the First-Year Seminar (191).
All First-Year Seminar (191) instructors across the WVU System, including those at Potomac State College and WVU Tech, are eligible.
The First-Year Seminar Instructor of the Year Award recognizes an instructor who demonstrates outstanding dedication to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for first-year students through excellence in teaching, commitment to student success and innovation in course design.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to submit nominations through Feb. 14.
Instructors may self-nominate.
The recipient will be awarded $1,250 toward professional development opportunities within the current fiscal year.
