WVU BOG Rule 5.8 out for public comment

Woodburn Winter Snow Campus

The West Virginia University Board of Governors has issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to amend WVU BOG Finance and Administration Rule 5.8 —  Travel.

The proposed amendments remove the requirement for booking travel through a University-contracted travel management company. Travelers would instead be allowed to make reservations using their preferred system, provided they comply with the other provisions of Rule 5.8 and the University’s Travel Manual. These changes reflect evolving industry standards and feedback from WVU travelers.

The Rule and associated documentation are open for public comment starting today (Nov. 25) through 11:59 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6. The comment period has been extended beyond the usual 30 days to account for the holidays.

All public comments received, or a summary thereof, will be posted on the University’s policy website for 10 days prior to the BOG taking final action. The Rule may be changed, subject to comments received.

Any member of the public can comment on the proposed Rule. If you wish to comment, please click on the proposed Rule. You will see a comment form link at the top of the Rule page. Please complete and submit the comment form to provide your input.
