The 18th annual Irving Goodman Aging Lecture will be delivered by Adam P. Spira, vice chair for research and faculty in the Department of Mental Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the Mountaineer Mall and on Zoom.
Spira will explore the critical relationship between sleep and aging, highlighting the latest research on how sleep disturbances can impact cognitive function, physical health and the risk of Alzheimer’s disease in older adults.
He will also delve into the growing body of evidence that suggests quality sleep is essential for healthy aging and may play a vital role in preventing cognitive and functional decline.
