Check info, register if you did not receive Thursday’s WVU Alert system test

laptop computer and phone generic

The University tested the WVU Alert system for the Morgantown, Keyser and Beckley campuses at 1 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 29).

Faculty, staff, students and other members of the University community who did not receive text message or email during the test are asked to visit alert.wvu.edu to add or update contact information.

Faculty and staff must manually register their email addresses or cell phone numbers to receive WVU Alerts.

Students are automatically enrolled in the WVU Alert system through their MIX email but may need to add their phone number, if it has not already been provided. If parents are also interested in receiving WVU Alert messages, students can add parental contact information through their accounts.

The test also included push notifications to mobile devices for people who have downloaded the LiveSafe app and allowed notifications.
