Two WVU Planetarium shows set for tonight

Planetarium Starry Sky

The WVU Planetarium will present two in-person shows tonight (Aug. 23). All shows are free and open to the public.

“Earth, Moon, Sun,” a family-friendly show, will take place from 8-9 p.m. Attendees will learn why the sun rises and sets, examine the Moon’s orbit, craters, phases and eclipses, and explore past and future space travel to the Moon and beyond with the help of Coyote, an amusing character adapted from Native American oral traditions.

The second show, “From Earth to Universe,” will begin at 9 p.m. Attendees will  learn about this journey of celestial discovery, from the theories of the ancient Greek astronomers to today’s grandest telescopes.
