Participants are invited to register for the annual West Virginia Writers’ Workshop, which is designed to give writers at any stage of their careers the opportunity to improve their craft in a warm, supportive atmosphere.

Registration will close July 5. The workshop, now in its 27th year, will be held on the WVU Downtown Campus and via Zoom from July 18 to July 21.

Participants work with nationally and internationally acclaimed authors in classes of no more than 14 students. The event also features readings, craft talks, writing exercises and a publishing panel.

“This is a great opportunity for writers to learn something about their craft and get helpful, enthusiastic feedback on their work,” Mark Brazaitis, workshop director, said.

Workshop faculty include John Manuel Arias, a Costa Rican-American author of the novel “When There Was Fire,” and poet Sara Henning, a Marshall University professor and the author of “Burn,” “Terra Incognita” and “View from True North.”
