“A Night at the Movies” promises a cinematic evening that will feature some of your favorite movie classics at 7:30 p.m. May 1 at the Canady Creative Arts Center, Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre.
Alyssa Schwartz will lead the orchestra opening with the brass section performing “Lincolnshire Possy,” followed by the full orchestra performing selections from the films “Indiana Jones,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Lord of the Rings” and the musical “The Phantom of the Opera.”
The concert will also feature the first side-by-side performance between the young musicians of the MCO Youth Strings and Monongalia Youth Strings, in collaboration with Cassie Nelson, a music teacher and middle school orchestra director with Monongalia County Schools.
This concert is free and open to the public.
