In partnership with Barnes and Noble College, the WVU Bookstore will launch First Day® Complete this fall, a new course material delivery program for undergraduate students that provides rented course materials at a lower, flat-rate price in a convenient package before the first day of class.
With this new rental program, students will receive their course materials (required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes and digital textbooks) at a savings of 35-50%. Instead of purchasing materials a la carte, they will receive all required course materials on a rental basis for a flat fee of $360 for full-time (12 credit hours or more) and $168 for part-time (11 credit hours or less) students, which will be added to their WVU MyAccount.
Here’s how First Day® Complete works:
· Faculty members submit their course material adoptions.
· Students register for classes.
· One month before classes start (July 22), students will receive an email from Barnes and Noble College instructing them to review their courses and choose how to receive their materials (pickup or direct shipment).
· The WVU Bookstore will prepare their course materials in a convenient package.
· Students will receive an email notification when their order is ready for pickup at the WVU Bookstore or when it ships, depending on their selection.
· Their digital materials will be delivered within eCampus.
· At the end of the semester, the WVU Bookstore will send helpful reminder emails to return their rental course materials.
All undergraduate students on the Morgantown, Beckley and Keyser Campuses taking classes during the upcoming fall semester are automatically enrolled in the program. Beginning July 22, they will receive emails from Barnes and Noble College with a link to opt out should they decide to purchase their course materials outside the program. Students must opt out by Aug. 30.
