In an effort to ensure the University is properly managing the lawful possession and use of controlled substances within teaching, research and service activities, the WVU Environmental Health and Safety team has created a new policy to guide this oversight.

The policy provides improved consistency in the use and regulation of all U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency controlled substances within research.

Details of the policy include guidance on the use, transfer and disposal of controlled substances, as well as the procurement of them. It also provides information on coordinated efforts necessary between DEA registrants and WVU Environmental Health and Safety.

For questions on the policy, contact Crys Povenski, controlled substances manager for WVU Environmental Health and Safety,  at Crys.Povenski@mail.wvu.edu.
