As part of Research Week 2024, the Research Office will host “The Intersection of Policy Work and Research” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2.
The moderated panel discussion will delve into how researchers engage with and contribute to policy at local and national levels.
Speaking at the event will be the directors of the Regional Research Institute, Bureau of Business and Economic Research, BRIDGE Initiative, WVU Institute for Sustainability and Energy and the Rockefeller School Institute for Policy Research and Public Affairs.
They are Heather Stephens, John Deskins, Joan Centrella, Sam Taylor and Sam Workman, respectively.
Melanie Page, associate vice president for creative and scholarly activity, Research Office, will moderate.
“Using research can craft policies on facts and not personal beliefs or emotions, and allows for a greater good for more people,” Page said. “Many individuals and entities at WVU contribute to this type of work daily and we are pleased to highlight the work being done by the panelists. We hope others will join them in this important work.”
The panel is a virtual event and can be joined via Zoom.
