West Virginia University is having its first Mountaineer Mascot Crowdfunding Event Saturday (March 2) to help raise money for the Mountaineer Traditions Fund, which helps to support the day-to-day operations of the Mountaineer mascot.
Those interested in donating to support the Mountaineer mascot can keep an eye out for social media posts from our main University social media accounts — WestVirginiaU on Instagram, X, LinkedIn and WVUmountaineers on Facebook — our Mountaineer mascot (WVUmascot) accounts, and our Student Life accounts (WVUStudentLife) Saturday (March 2) to find ways to donate.
All donations given on Saturday will also go toward the University’s overall total during Day of Giving later this spring.
The Mountaineer mascot is one of the world’s most famous mascots and is a member of the Mascot Hall of Fame. Each year, the mascot represents WVU at 300-plus events and in hundreds of thousands of interactions with children, fans and West Virginians.
Your donations on the Mountaineer Mascot Crowdfunding Event will help enhance the experience of our 70th Mountaineer and the alternate Mountaineer mascot over the next year.
