Make music in an intergenerational environment by joining Morgantown’s longest standing community orchestra.
Intermediate and advanced players who enjoy making music and friends are invited to grab their instruments and come to the next rehearsal from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 27) at the Canady Creative Arts Center, Room 2070.
Weekly rehearsals, under the baton of Alyssa Schwartz, will lead the ensemble into its final concert at 7:30 p.m. May 1 in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre.
String players who would like to join the orchestra without committing to the concert are encouraged to participate in the Youth Strings Program. This ensemble is suitable for elementary and middle school students, as well as beginner adults who would like to join the orchestra for a variety of works suitable to their level of playing.
Rehearsal and performance times may qualify for community service hours.
In-house rentals for double bass, bassoons, cellos and violins are available on a first come, first served basis.
