If you are interested in improving reading and writing skills in West Virginia children from birth to age 8, join this session to learn more about the third round of West Virginia Sparking Early Literacy Growth projects at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, on Zoom.

The West Virginia Public Education Collaborative and Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation are accepting applications now through March 15.

Funding is available to pilot or expand promising practices in the following areas:

  • School readiness

  • High quality instruction

  • Extended learning

The following organizations are encouraged to apply:

  • Public and private schools

  • Early care and early childhood centers

  • Afterschool and summer learning program

  • Nonprofit organizations 

  • Colleges and universities

  • Other literacy focused stakeholders 

  • Communities 

  • Community and public organizations
