Faculty and staff volunteers are needed to help support the West Virginia Regional High School and Middle School Science Bowl from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 2 and 3 in the Mountainlair.
Not only is the competition an excellent chance for students from around the state to visit campus and show off their skills — it’s also a great opportunity for WVU to showcase our campus and culture.
From set-up to scorekeeping, the donation of your time and energy as a volunteer enables the event to run smoothly year after year. Schedules are flexible and shift work is available to allow volunteers to help when they can.
So, whether you’ve participated before or are a new recruit, the Science Bowl has a position for you. With minimal commitment, volunteering is an excellent way to help inspire the next generation of scientists, researchers and engineers.
The middle school competition will be held Friday, Feb. 2, and the high school competition Saturday, Feb. 3.
The event is co-sponsored by the National Energy Technology Laboratory and WVU.
