The University community and Morgantown residents may notice increased police presence and activity around the Coliseum beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 3) and extending overnight for an outdoor mock crime scene training exercise.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and detectives, Star City K9 unit and WVU Police Department, along with staged media represented by journalism students and others will gather for the training exercise.
The exercise will affect some areas inside the Coliseum and the paid parking lot adjacent to Jerry West Drive. Set up is set to begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 3) with clean up completed by 8 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 4).
The annual fall exercise is organized as a hands-on, in-the-field opportunity for senior forensic science examiners at WVU.
