If you have knowledge to share and are looking for a community outreach opportunity or service project, consider volunteering for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at WVU.
Learn more about teaching at OLLI, including the programs of interest, the proposal process, support provided to instructors and the rewards of teaching during a virtual information session at 4 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 12) or 12:30 p.m. Sept. 15.
An affiliate program of the School of Public Health, OLLI is dedicated to providing short, non-credit educational programming designed for adults 50 and older.
OLLI at WVU offers professors, lecturers, teachers, scholars and educators the opportunity to share their knowledge with an enthusiastic, engaged group of learners in a classroom setting or on Zoom with no tests or grades to worry about. This is teaching for the fun of it.
OLLI classes are led by volunteers and offer a wide variety of subjects, including the arts, history, literature, philosophy, religion, science, math, health and wellness, current events and more.
Classes may meet once for an hour or up to 14 hours over eight weeks during summer, fall, winter or spring terms in Morgantown and/or Charleston.
Drawn from all walks of life, OLLI members are curious about the world around them and ready to discover what they didn’t know.
Register to attend an information session.
If you’re interested but unable to attend a session, contact Jascenna Haislet at Jascenna.haislet@hsc.wvu.edu to arrange a meeting.
