Following a thorough assessment of potential solutions and a competitive public bidding process, WVU has selected the Huron Research Suite as its new electronic research administration platform.

The Huron Research Suite will replace WVU+kc (Kuali) for proposal submission, award management, protocol management, conflict of interest and more.

The WVU Research Office, Information Technology Services and other partners across the University will begin implementation this year.

WVU will implement six modules from the Huron Research Suite, including:

• Grants

• Agreements

• Conflict of Interest (COI)

• Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)

• Institutional Review Board (IRB)

• Animal Operations

Custom-built modules currently in WVU+kc either will be moved into the new tool or into the Kuali Build system, which WVU will retain.

The Huron Research Suite will help the Research Office streamline business processes in a single platform and automate processes that are currently manual. For researchers, the new tool will reduce complexity, prevent the need to enter the same data in multiple places, speed up approvals and help ensure compliance.

Researchers will have opportunities to participate and provide feedback throughout the project.
