Call for 2023 Summer Symposium abstracts, judges

The 16th Annual Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium is scheduled to take place from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Mountainlair.

Faculty and staff are asked to encourage their undergraduate researchers to submit abstracts for this annual event celebrating undergraduate research achievements.

Undergraduate researchers will display posters in a variety of disciplines and present their summer research and creative work during this judged event. 

Abstract submissions are due by July 20. 

Judges will be required to attend the event from 1:30-4 p.m., and will receive a branded WVU Office of Undergraduate Research gift. Interested faculty, experienced staff, and postdoctoral and graduate students should fill out the online application

Symposium by ForagerOne platform news users will be prompted to create a password protected login.

Graduate students can receive credit for judging through iServe.

The tentative schedule of events includes:

Noon-12:30 p.m., Presenters hang posters in the Mountainlair Ballrooms

12:30-1:30 p.m., Poster viewing opens to public and refreshments

1:30-2 p.m., Keynote address

2-3:40 p.m., Formal poster session and judging

3:40-4 p.m., Tear down
