The WVU Faculty and Staff Assistance Program has launched Brief Emotional Support Team sessions, offering employees immediate support during times of need.

The FSAP team understands the increased demand for support due to rapid organizational change and we are committed to providing accessible assistance to all employees.

BEST sessions will offer the following:

  • Guaranteed same-day or next-day 30-60 minute Zoom or phone sessions will be available Monday through Friday.

  • FSAP licensed clinicians ensure confidentiality and professionalism during each session while using HIPAA-compliant platforms. Note: FSAP does not use the WVU Medicine medical record system Epic.

  • All sessions are free and do not require the use of health insurance.

  • Experienced behavioral health clinicians will actively listen, offer coping strategies, and if needed, connect you with community resources.

BEST Listening Space groups, co-lead by Janie Howsare, FSAP director, T. Anne Hawkins, director of the Carruth Center, and Mike Andrew, FSAP provider, will also be offered twice a week.
