New login passwords must be longer, include a special character

After the normal maintenance period Sunday (May 14), all new WVU Login passwords will need to be at least 12 characters long and include a special character.

No immediate change is necessary, but you will need to meet this requirement the next time you change your password at login.wvu.edu.

With this increased complexity, your password is less likely to be compromised. Login passwords must include one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one special character and at least one number. This change applies to anyone with a WVU Login account, including WVU Health Sciences employees.

WVU Medicine employees who access certain WVU systems will have the same password requirements as of the same date.
