PEIA policyholders are reminded that in order to receive the PEIA Tobacco-Free Preferred Premium for all of Plan Year 2024, you and all enrolled family members must have been tobacco-free by Jan. 1, 2023.
All health and optional life insurance premiums are based on the tobacco-use status of those insured. Tobacco use includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vape pens, chewing tobacco, pipe tobacco and snuff.
PEIA states they reserve the right to investigate possible tobacco use of those claiming the tobacco-free discount. If you or any of your dependent’s tobacco status has changed, you must update it.
You may review and update your tobacco status by visiting the PEIA website and logging in to Manage My Benefits.
Note: Open Enrollment has been extended through Wednesday, May 31. Any changes made during this will be effective July 1.
