The Morris L. Hayhurst LaunchLab recently hosted its annual March Idea Challenge featuring University student organizations.
Seven student organizations from the WVU Morgantown Campus and one from WVU Tech had five minutes to pitch their solutions for organizational issues to win up to $5,000.
The professional panel of judges awarded the WVU Tech Entrepreneurship Club $2,000 to create a cultural lounge on campus and the Asian Association $1,230 to host a cultural fair on campus.
The Outdoor Adventure Club received $900 for advertising and the WVU Climbing Club received $870 to purchase more inclusive rock climbing equipment.
The popular vote went to the WVU Entrepreneurship Club which was awarded $250 to create an annual student business pitch competition.
Sigma Phi Delta Engineering Fraternity pitched a middle school STEM day event, the Collegiate Gaming Club proposed LAN party event ideas to attract new members and the Self Love Club pitched a spring festival to help students ease stress during finals week.
