Farm And Food Hub

Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to participate in the annual Appalachian Food Justice Institute and the Farm and Food Hub programs. 

The Appalachian Food Justice Institute, May 22-26

Participants in this five-day immersive workshop will learn about food justice and food sovereignty movements by working with experienced advocates for the right to food.

This course will also include sessions on food access inequalities and strategies, participatory action research, how to facilitate movement building in communities and more. 

The Farm and Food Hub, May 15-July 28 

Participants in this 12-week internship will work with experienced food system developers through a full-time internship placement or farm apprenticeship. 

Interns will be paid $5,400 and will focus on food production and food systems development. Interns will be placed with the Mountain Harvest Farm and Garrett Growers.

This year’s cohort will also work with the WVU Organic Farm, WVU Urban Farm and the WVU Davis College Store.
