WVU community invited to celebrate regional indie games

Indie Showcase

Join the Game Design and Interactive Media program, MonRiverGames and X-Reality Club at the Spring Game Showcase to playtest new titles, meet industry professionals, win prizes and celebrate indie game development with the local community.

The event is open to the public and will take place from noon to 3 p.m. April 1 in the Media Innovation Center

The Spring Showcase invites game studios from the region, including West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky and Washington D.C., as well as student developers from WVU, to show off their games, get crucial feedback from playtesters and network with other gamemakers.

The opportunity for independent game studios to collaborate in this way is vital to the success and growth of the local industry.

WVU faculty, staff, students and members of the Morgantown community are invited to register and participate. Attendees can playtest games from a growing roster of more than a dozen studios, meet other video game enthusiasts local to the area and provide feedback to earn tickets to be entered into a raffle prize basket.

Register at MonRiverGames or on Facebook.

The Game Design and Interactive Media program is an undergraduate major offered through the Reed College of Media and College of Creative Arts.
