Join School of Medicine medical students at White Coat Ceremony

School of Medicine

Symbolizing a future of providing care and compassion to patients, second-year School of Medicine medical students will receive their white coats during the annual J.W. Traubert White Coat Ceremony set for 11 a.m. tomorrow (March 11) at the Metropolitan Theatre in downtown Morgantown.

Members of the University community are welcome to attend.

The keynote speaker is School of Medicine 2022 Distinguished Alumna Dr. Patrice Harris, the 174th president of the American Medical Association and a current member of the WVU Board of Governors. 

Additional speakers are Dr. Clay Marsh, chancellor and executive dean, WVU Health Sciences, and Dr. Norman Ferrari, chief academic officer and vice dean for education and academic affairs, Department of Medical Education.

The White Coat Ceremony is named for Dr. John W. Traubert, the former associate dean for student and curricular affairs at the School of Medicine and founding dean of what is now the Department of Family Medicine.
