Your research may lack impact if you can't clearly communicate it.
Learn tips and tricks on how to make research relatable to the general masses, and why that matters by registering for the science communication workshop “Lay it down for the layman: How to communicate and amplify your research beyond the lab.”
The workshop is open to members of the WVU research community and will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, March 22, at the Advanced Engineering Research Building, Room 120, as part of Research Week 2023.
Jake Stump, director of research communications at University Relations, will lead the workshop by diving into ways to make science and research applicable and accessible to those outside of academia. He and his team will also inform attendees about WVU resources that researchers can utilize to get their message out into the wide world.
Media-savvy faculty members will also join the discussion to share best practices and approaches in working with news media and generating publicity for their research.
The workshop is sponsored by the NASA West Virginia Experimental Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research at WVU.
