Panel discussion features two former NFL players

Join the Center for Black Culture and Research for “Breaking the Stigma of the Black Quarterback” featuring former NFL players Spencer Paysinger and Major Harris at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Rhododendron Room of the Mountainlair. 

Paysinger, portrayed in the Netflix series “All American,” and Harris, a former Mountaineer quarterback, will share their experiences and discuss the stigma attached to the intelligence and leadership ability among Black quarterbacks in the NFL. 

This event has been planned in honor of Black History Month and in light of the recent successes of NFL quarterback and former Mountaineer football player Geno Smith and four other Black NFL quarterbacks including Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson and Dak Prescott. 

This free event is open to the public.
