Award-winning memoirist and WVU professor to give reading

Brian Broome

Brian Broome, the author of the award-winning memoir “Punch Me Up to the Gods,” will give a reading at 7 p.m. today (Feb. 15) in Room 130, Colson Hall and on Zoom.

Broome’s memoir was a New York Times Editors’ Pick and won the 2021 Kirkus Prize for Nonfiction. A professor in the Department of English, he is also a guest columnist for The Washington Post.

“We’re thrilled to hear Brian Broome read,” said Mark Brazaitis, a professor of English and the faculty adviser to Sigma Tau Delta. “His memoir is moving, funny, unsettling, and, ultimately, hopeful. He’s a terrific, thoughtful and engaging writer.”

Sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta, the reading is free and open to the public.
