W-2 forms will be available online for all current WVU employees after midnight tonight (Jan. 23) under the MyHR tab at portal.wvu.edu.

Paper copies will be mailed to the employee’s home address on or before Jan. 31.

If you had a change of address, allow time for the post office to deliver your form before requesting a duplicate copy.

Duplicate copies can be requested by sending an email to tax@mail.wvu.edu. Include your name, current mailing address and birthdate. Do not send your Social Security number through this email. This email account is not secure.

We will not begin accepting requests for duplicate copies until Feb. 13 to allow time for delivery of the original form.

To protect personal information, employees should not access either their pay stub or W-2 from a public computer. For your security, when accessing either your paystub or your W-2 form from home, use WVU’s VPN. If you do not have VPN installed, it can be downloaded at remote.wvu.edu

Direct W-2 questions to WVU Tax Services tax@mail.wvu.edu. Provide your name, telephone number, month and year of birth and either your WVU ID or your employee number for verification purposes. For your protection, do not provide your Social Security number via email when requesting W-2 information.

Note: WVU Tax Services cannot provide personal tax advice. Employees should consult their professional tax preparer for individual tax advice.
