Community Music Program: It’s always the right time to start

Community Music Program

Every new year is an opportunity to try something new and different, so in 2023, come make music with us as part of the Community Music Program at WVU.

Channel your inspiration and creativity from the holidays into learning how to play an instrument and mastering this craft through music lessons, group classes and ensembles.

The Community Music Program is open to beginners, amateurs and performers of all ages and levels who wish to enhance their daily lives with arts, explore new creative territories or perform with others who share the same passion.

Members can register for private instruction on a variety of instruments, sign up for new and returning group classes, or perform with the Jazz and World Music ensembles and the Morgantown Community Orchestra.

All classes are taught by faculty members from the WVU School of Music and Community Music Program.

The 13-week sessions begin Jan. 23 and early bird registration will remain open until Jan. 29. Late registration will close March 11, during which time a late fee of $15 will be applied.

The program will continue to provide the community with special offers, as well as discounts for senior citizens, multiple family members, and those taking more than one class. Music students from neighboring colleges will receive a 10% discount to participate in our large ensembles, including the Morgantown Community Orchestra.
