Faculty are encouraged to ask undergraduate researchers interested in graduate school to engage in scholarly activity related to their discipline, including research and creative work, through the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience program.
Faculty are also encouraged to apply to mentor undergraduates in scholarly activity through the SURE program.
The 2023 SURE program is slated for May 30-July 28 and student researchers will receive a $4,000 stipend.
The deadline for students to submit an application is 11:59 p.m. on March 1.
Notes: Due to funding limitations, participation in the funded portion of WVU SURE may be limited to one time per undergraduate.
The NSF-funded KY-WV LSAMP Alliance provides funding to support an additional five undergraduate STEM majors in SURE who are also underrepresented persons (e.g., Hispanic, African-American) and U.S. citizens/permanent residents of the U.S. or its territories. WVU students who fit these demographics are encouraged to apply to SURE.
