The Erickson Alumni Center has a new general manager in Tim Povenski, effective immediately.
In this role, Povenski will be responsible for leading all aspects of property management and guest experiences at the Erickson Alumni Center — a 48,000 square foot, marquee, multi-purpose event complex — and operating the facility in alignment with the missions of the WVU Alumni Association and West Virginia University.
He also will be accountable for implementing the highest quality standards, maximizing financial performance and assuring guest satisfaction at the Erickson Alumni Center.
Povenski will report to Erin Newmeyer, assistant vice president for Strategic Initiatives.
“I am thrilled to have Tim join the Erickson Alumni Center family,” Newmeyer said. “He brings a lot of experience and new ideas to the table on how to enhance the already great services and support we provide as we continue to focus on elevating the facility and our offerings.”
Povenski joined WVU in 2006. During his time at the University, he has held a variety of positions in business operations and project management across several areas, including WVU Research Corporation, WVU Medicine and Strategic Initiatives.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication studies, both from WVU.
“I truly am excited about this opportunity,” said Povenski. “As an alumnus myself, I am very passionate about WVU and our campus community, and I look forward to ensuring all guests at the Erickson Alumni Center create meaningful and memorable experiences during their time with us.”
