WVU’s chapter Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor Society, will host "Reading for Reproductive Rights" from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 25) in the Rhododendron Room of the Mountainlair.

Audience members are invited to read their own work or the work of another author on the subject of reproductive rights and are asked to keep their reading to three minutes or less.

“Literature has long been a powerful way to express dissent in times of injustice,” said Anna Schles, co-president of Sigma Tau Delta. “As members of Sigma Tau Delta, we are excited to present this opportunity for expression.”

“I’m excited that Sigma Tau Delta has agreed to host a reading about something so relevant and raw to many people in our community,” said Erica Cottrill, co-vice president of Sigma Tau Delta. “Stories about reproductive rights and health for everyone have never been more necessary to write, to share, and to listen to, and I hope to see all kinds of people gather to bring awareness to this issue.”

“Bring a friend. Bring something to read. Or, if nothing else, just bring an open mind and a heart ready to listen,” Cottrill added.

The event is free and open to the public.
