Attend a hybrid workshop on GIS and spatial analysis in health care

Join the WVU Research Office and WVCTSI for a research-based workshop on the benefits of using Geographic Information Systems and Spatial Analysis in Health Care from 9 a.m.-noon Thursday, Nov. 3, in the Greenbrier Room of the Mountainlair or on Zoom. 

Co-hosts Brian Hendricks, a national expert in spatial epidemiology, and Timothy Dotson, a health geographer, will showcase the diverse uses of GIS and spatial analysis in public health initiatives and how it can advance substance use and recovery and aging research at WVU.

Hendricks serves as a senior policy analyst for the Office of National Drug Control Policy, a component of the Executive Office of the President of the United States as well as the director of the WVU Spatial Epidemiology and Statistics Lab and the new WVCTSI Small Area Estimation Unit. 

Dotson has 15 years of experience using geographic information systems for environmental and substance use epidemiological research.
