WVU BOG Rule 1.4 out for public comment

Woodburn Hall

The West Virginia University Board of Governors (BOG) has issued a  Second Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to potentially amend WVU BOG Governance Rule 1.4 – Ethics, Conflicts of Interest, and Outside Consulting Arrangements

The BOG previously issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on June 27 that included potential amendments to BOG Rule 1.4.

However, based on comments received during the initial 30-day public comment period for BOG Rule 1.4, University administration sought approval from the BOG during the Sept. 9 meeting for the Rule to undergo a Second Notice of Proposed Rulemaking.

BOG Rule 1.4 is posted online for a second 30-day public comment period beginning today (Sept. 12) and ending Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 11:59 p.m.

When reviewing BOG Rule 1.4, it is important to note that blue text indicates the original proposed amendments to the Rule from June 27, while red text specifies additional proposed changes in response to comments received.

All comments will be posted on the University’s policy website. The Rules may be changed, subject to comments received. The comments, or summary thereof, and final proposed Rules will be posted for 10 days prior to the BOG taking final action.

The BOG Rules under review can be found on the Rules, Policies, and Procedures website.

Any member of the public may comment on the proposed Rule. If you wish to comment, please click on the proposed Rule on the Board of Governors Rules Under Review page. The proposed Rule’s text will appear. You will see a comment form link from the Rule and Policy page. Please complete and submit the comment form to provide your input.
