Move beyond just listening to music

Community Music

The WVU community is invited to move beyond just listening to music and begin participating in making music through the Community Music Program. Channel your inspiration and creativity by learning how to play an instrument and mastering this craft with music lessons, group classes and ensemble.

The Community Music Program is open to everyone — including beginners, amateurs, and performers of all ages and levels — who wish to enhance their daily lives with arts, explore new creative territories or perform with others who share the same passion.

For the program’s 13-week term, members can register for private instruction on a variety of instruments, sign up for new and returning group classes or perform with the Morgantown Community Orchestra. All classes are taught by WVU School of Music and Community Music Program faculty members.

Classes will take place through Dec. 18. Early Bird registration is open through Sept. 11. The late registration period will close Oct. 30 and a late fee of $15 will be applied to all incoming registrations during this period.

The program will celebrate its 60th anniversary with special offers, as well as discounts for senior citizens, multiple family members and classes. Music students from neighboring colleges will receive a 10% discount to be active performers of the Morgantown Community Orchestra.
