WVU again ranked among 'best employers by state' by Forbes

Woodburn Circle Campus

West Virginia University has been named to the 2022 list of “America’s Best Employers by State” by Forbes magazine.

WVU is the only institution of higher learning to make the list of West Virginia’s best employers and this year marks the fourth consecutive time the University has been recognized by Forbes since 2019.

Rankings were compiled by surveying 70,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees. Forbes partnered with market research company Statista — a leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider — to conduct the study.

Surveys were conducted anonymously, allowing participants to freely share their opinions. The survey included questions about working conditions, salary and the potential for growth and diversity.

“It is an honor to once again be recognized by Forbes as one of the best employers in West Virginia,” Cris DeBord, vice president of Talent and Culture, said. “The last couple of years have been difficult for many employers as they reacted to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, I am proud of WVU’s response to these challenges and how our faculty and staff continue to adapt to our new ways of working.”
