Public comment period extended for 11 BOG Rules currently under review

Due to a technical issue that prematurely closed the public comment feature for a period of time Wednesday (July 27), the opportunity to provide comments on the 11 WVU Board of Governors (BOG) Rules currently under review has been extended until 11:59 p.m. today (July 28). 

As a reminder, the BOG issued a  Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on June 27 to potentially amend:  

• WVU BOG Governance Rule 1.4 – Ethics, Conflicts of Interest, and Outside Consulting Arrangements 

• WVU BOG Talent & Culture Rule 3.1 – Administration & Employment Practices 

• WVU BOG Talent & Culture Rule 3.2 – Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity
  

• WVU BOG Talent & Culture Rule 3.3 – Classification & Compensation 

• WVU BOG Talent & Culture Rule 3.4 – Drug and Alcohol Testing for FTA & FMCSA Covered Positions

• WVU BOG Talent & Culture Rule 3.5 – Employee Leave
  

• WVU BOG Talent & Culture Rule 3.6 – Holidays
  

• WVU BOG Talent & Culture Rule 3.7 – Annual Increment
  

• WVU BOG Talent & Culture Rule 3.8 – Performance Management
  

• WVU BOG Talent & Culture Rule 3.9 – Reduction in Force
  

• WVU BOG Finance & Administration Rule 5.8 – Travel  

The proposed changes are to amend current BOG Rules to clarify certain provisions and update the Rules to reflect changes that have occurred since their adoption.

Summaries of the proposed Rules can be found on the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking website.  

All public comments received will be posted on the University’s policy website. The Rules may be changed, subject to comments received. The comments, or summary thereof, and final proposed Rules will be posted for 10 days prior to the BOG taking final action.  

The BOG Rules under review can be found on the Rules, Policies, and Procedures website. Any member of the public can comment on these proposed Rules.
