Kristina Hash, a professor in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, is co-publisher of a first-of-its-kind book dealing with the use of photography in the field of social work.
Working with colleagues from Radford University and California State University, San Bernardino Palm Desert, Hash created “Photography in Social Work and Social Change: Theory and Applications for Practice and Research” from Oxford University Press.
The book provides readers with background, examples and step-by-step instructions on how to utilize photographic methods in social work practice and research.
Neal Newfield, WVU associate professor emeritus in social work, co-wrote and provided photographs for a chapter on documentary photography.
Hash supplied the cover art for the book which combines past and present photos of the Scott's Run community in Osage.
