Annual Notice of Appointment letters will not reflect changes effective after July 1

Woodburn Hall

Beginning Wednesday (July 27), West Virginia University will distribute Notice of Appointment letters for the 2022-2023 fiscal year to eligible non-classified, faculty and faculty-equivalent/academic professionals.

Similar to previous years’ processes, the letters will be distributed electronically via the same software platform used in WVU’s performance review process for staff.

Eligible employees will receive an email to their WVU account from NoticeofAppointment@mail.wvu.edu along with instructions on how to access their appointment letters for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

The letters will provide information on the employee’s job title, salary and other pertinent employment information as of July 1, which was the beginning of the fiscal year. Notices will not reflect changes that occur after July 1 that employees may be eligible for including the July 3 merit raises and/or faculty tenure and/or promotion changes.

Faculty and staff are required to electronically sign their appointment letters. Employees also may choose to print a copy for their records.

Classified employees will continue to access their employment information via portal.wvu.edu in the “My HR” tab.
