Imes to serve as interim registrar for WVU

Joshua Imes

Joshua Imes, associate registrar for operations in the WVU Office of University Registrar, was recently appointed as interim university registrar, following the departure of Aimee Pfeifer.

As interim registrar, Imes will oversee the business affairs and operations of the Office of the Registrar, including graduation and degree audit, registration, grading and all academic record-keeping for WVU. Imes will also continue to serve in his role as associate registrar for operations.

“While we were sad to see Aimee Pfeifer leave WVU for another opportunity near family, we are excited to have Joshua Imes assume the interim role of registrar,” Vice Provost Paul Kreider said. “We know Josh to be adept in the student information systems and dedicated to providing services to our campus community. I look forward to working together.”

Imes has served on the University Registrar team since 2014, when he first joined WVU to provide technical development and training for systems including Banner, Degree Works and the University catalog. He quickly moved into an assistant registrar role supporting academic services, managing Degree Works and its roll-out to the University’s divisional campuses.

In 2017, Imes was named associate registrar for technology and, later, associate registrar for operations, where he managed the office’s technology, student services and course planning and scheduling units.

“I am excited for the opportunity to serve the University as interim registrar,” Imes said. “I look forward to continuing the high level of service, responsiveness and accuracy the Registrar’s Office is known for. Our office is comprised of an outstanding team, and it’s an honor to lead them.”

Imes’ appointment is effective for one year, during which the University will conduct a national search for a permanent university registrar.
