University Police reminds Mountaineers to buckle up during Click It or Ticket campaign

In partnership with the West Virginia Governor’s Highway Safety Program and police departments across the state, University Police encourages drivers and passengers to wear a seat belt at all times when in a motor vehicle.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than 10,000 unbuckled drivers and passengers were killed in crashes across the country in 2020. To keep motorists safe, police officers remind drivers and passengers to buckle up for every ride, every time.

“Our department’s top priority is the safety of our fellow Mountaineers, and we’re working to continue enforcing national Click It or Ticket efforts,” WVU Police Chief Sherry St. Clair said. “Buckling up is an important habit that can save lives.”
