The West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival will be held April 22-23 on WVU's Morgantown campus.
Hosted by the Electronic Media program in the WVU School of Art & Design, the West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival is an international, competitive film screening showing selected works from around the world, along with short films created by WVU students and regional filmmakers.
The festival presents works in a wide range of genres and formats including narrative film, documentary, traditional & 3D animation, video art, experimental, comedy and sci/fi. Prizes will be awarded in each of the festival’s competitive categories. Filmmaking workshops will also be presented.
Established in 2010, The West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival is an international film competition. Its mission is to connect West Virginia University students and the surrounding Morgantown community to the world of independent filmmaking and experimental video & animation while fostering creative and artistic approaches to these forms.
Admission to all screenings is free and open to the public.
