In recognition of National Poison Prevention Week, March 20–26, the West Virginia Poison Center is teaming up with UniCare Health Plan of West Virginia and other poison centers across the country to raise awareness about the dangers of poisonings and how to prevent them in communities everywhere.

The West Virginia Poison Center will also showcase "Did You Know?" facts about the Center and poisons and share various prevention events on their website and Facebook page throughout the month of March.

Elizabeth J. Scharman, a professor with the WVU School of Pharmacy, serves as the director of the WVUPC. The Center is located on the WVU Charleston Division Campus.
